Best of Squidoo Dashboard Notification – You will now see a blue thumbs up check mark on your dashboard for lenses that have been promoted to our Best of Squidoo lists.
The Gift Guide Topic – We’re asking that Lensmasters change the topic of their lenses in the Gift Guide Topic as we’ll be retiring that topic soon. We want these types of lenses to be in their own niche area from now on. Easter Gifts in Holiday’s > Easter, etc.
You can easily see what lenses are in the Gift Guide topic by clicking on the Lens List button on your dashboard.
Tip - As you’re moving your lenses give them an update so that we can include them in the Best of Lists. Here’s some tips for making the Best of Squidoo.

Last week our Giant Squid lensmasters shared some summertime fun. Take a look!
Fisherman’s Wharf is a quaint destination just a short stroll from downtown Victoria, BC. It features floating homes, restaurants, whale watching tours, and some of the best seafood available anywhere. Many tourists miss this hidden gem, as they are n…
If you’d asked me what my favorite season of the year was years ago, summer would’ve been my very last choice. Summers in Tokyo are incredibly hot and humid and the heat is so amazingly intense, it has the ability to zap all the energy out of the…
Any time you can get a mile by mile guide for a place you are visiting, go for it. I love this book! Summer will be here before you know it. Are you ready? You know what that means: kids out of school, time to play, and vacation! I already have several thi…
Make a decision for a summertime mission of making a lifestyle change in your choice of vocation. A vacation may be on your list, and if it is, take time for a business adventure. Open your ears, eyes, and thinking to possible new opportunities. Most vacat…
I spend time butterfly chasing in and around Carrabelle in the Florida sunshine, especially in the summertime. Of course, late summer and early fall the Forgotten Coast of the Florida Panhandle plays host to the great Monarch butterfly migration each year….
Summertime is meant to be spent outside. However, if you’re ready to kick back indoors after a full day of activities in the sun, I found a way for you to bring the sunshine in. Sixties beach party movies like Beach Blanket Bingo! Background: The worl…
I’m always reminded of summers past whenever I hear particular songs, see events in the newspaper, play a particular game or just about anything I came into contact with during the summer time frame. I have done a variety of things during the months o…
Summer is on the way; at least we all hope so. Here in Western New York it’s been a long hard winter. So now soon we should have some beautiful sunny days. Sometimes you need to keep the kids busy outside instead if in the house. Add The Little Tikes…
Summertime is my favorite time of year. There is nothing better than walking outside in flip flops without a jacket and letting the sun hit my face while a cool breeze blows my hair in the wind. However, my time in the sun is extremely limited without Neut…

Today, meet lensmaster and RocketSquid JALowe.
How did you find Squidoo? Finding Squidoo was a rather random process really. As a student I have to write a lot of academic, very professional essays. I wanted to do some more recreational writing that was less formal and wouldn’t take too much time out of my studying so I looked around for places to write, that seemed fun, had a nice community, and didn’t have strict regulations about what I had to write so I stumbled upon Squidoo and I haven’t looked back since I signed up!
Of the lenses you’ve made so far, which is your favorite and why? I think my favourite right now is Captain America: An Inspirational Hero. It is one of my shorter lenses but I like writing about people that inspire me and I have always felt inspired by superheroes and I like writing about people that inspire me, be they real or fake. Editing Ed Wood is a fun one to because Ed Wood is so maligned but I have a real soft spot for him as somebody that I find rather inspiring. Yeah, I think more lenses about inspiration will be coming soon from me!
What one tip would you give to a new lensmaster starting out? For new lensmasters I think my main tip would be to follow your heart. Write lenses about what you love, what inspires you. Don’t make lenses that are cold and like articles. Make lenses that are passionate and full of life!
