Lens of the Day: How to Create a Beautiful Garden Planter out of an Ordinary Container

Posted: 06 May 2014 05:29 AM PDT

planterSure, anyone can go to the store and buy a planter but it’s so much more fun to reuse, recycle and create something unique to show off your green thumbs.

Stop by today’s Lens of the Day to see “how to” create a beautiful container garden using something you might find at a garage sale.

How to Create a Beautiful Garden Planter out of an Ordinary Container by lensmaster angelatvs was submitted to last month’s Gardening Club Quest.

We Want Your Food!

Screen Shot 2014-05-05 at 8.02.05 PMOK, we don’t actually want the food on your plate (although you can send us cookies) what we’re really looking for are your recipes. We want banana bread recipes and spaghetti recipes and peach smoothie recipes. Getting hungry yet?

Squidoo has many, many places for sharing food and we’d love for you to create a recipe lens. Use this link: http://www.squidoo.com/new/recipeformat to start your lens.

Just be sure to include quality original photos (or photos that you have permission to use) and of course no copying recipes off the web, that’s just cheating and no fun at all. The more YOU the better.

Once you publish a recipe lens we’ll see it (kind of like magic) and we’ll share it out on our social media sites (be sure to follow us too).

What’s Cooking on Squidoo On Facebook On Google + , On Tumblr, On Pinterest

GoodVeg, for Vegetarians On Facebook, On Goolge+, On Twitter, On Tumblr, On Pinterest

That’s a lot of sharing! So start your recipe lens http://www.squidoo.com/new/recipeformat so we can start sharing you.

Finally, if your lens is really good (and original) we’ll promote it to our Best of Food on Squidoo.

PS – The recipe on the intro photo is Stuffed Cabbage. YUM!

Using Twitter Part 3 – Use Hashtags

I’m back with another Twitter tip and it’s a big one. Use hashtags

Twitter is a huge universe and if you’re not using hashatags you’re probably not reaching your targeted niche audience.

For example. Yesterday I put out a question on Twitter:

Where is the bathroom in the Millennium Falcon? I really want to know. #MayThe4thBeWithYou #StarWarsDay #bathrooms #lmageek

I used 4 hashtags (2 or 3 is ideal) but a bunch of Star Wars fans saw my tweet here and here and were able to interact and share.

So when you tweet about something use a relevant hashtag. #gardening, #DIY, #cincodemayo or if you mention a company use a hashtag. Social media is everywhere and just about every company searches daily for # mentions like #wholefoods and #craftsman and #squidoo.

I’m in our Squidoo Twitter account everyday and I want to see your lenses. So follow us and our hashtag #squidoo so I can find your lenses. I retweet the creative one.

So use hashtags every single time you Tweet.

PS – Also remember to make your tweets fun, personal and creative.
